back to zero
i went to Vantaa last night on a whim, to "zero things down" a bit with miss R, as we call it. apparently we went to sleep at around 6. we discussed the trip we're hopefully doing during her winter holiday in december. we just wanna go somewhere really cheap, for 5 to 7 days. so basically that means europe, or a bit further if we take one of those last minute deals. but the latter are usually beach-destinanations, with a tourist guide and stuff. and im so not doing another one of those. but then, we've also seen many european cities, and the demand is for something a bit warmer than up here, so that rules out Manchester's and Praque's etc. basically what we have is Milan, Madrid or Athens. Athens would be interesting from a historical point of view. and once we got into that aspect, theres SO many cities that are alluring...Jerusalem, Damascus, Istanbul (aka Constantinople!), Medina, Mecca, Beirut, Cairo... but i doubt we could get down there for an affordable price. so another time then, hopefully.
i had my last UV light hair removal session today. and i see my bank acount shrinking. im going to be counting days to the next payday again. woohoo. i should have received a check tho that saves my ass for a while though, i have to ask if its been sent yet... (1000$ from a book publisher). also i have shitloads of stuff, like clothes, that i dont need or use, i should try get rid of it selling it online. that could generate a few euros.
i received a letter from my penpal... id been really embarrassed i hadnt written to him in a loooong time. but now im relieved the situation was "solved" as he contacted me. i was feeling guilty but wouldnt do anything about it, but now i''ll write him again. hes been moved to a high security prison and will be spending 6 years in the 'hole', apparently for things he didnt do. well, i don't know. i wonder what u need to do to get 6 yrs of the hole... kill someone again?
Threadless made a reprint of "Flowers in the Attic"! it is one of my fav tees ever. but alas, i already have one, so i guess im happy with that. but i would like to recommend it, lots... tadaa:
New Scientist has an environment story with "26 climate myths"... here's "It's too cold where I live - warming will be great". i don't see how that text tackles the myth at all. yes the level of water raises and yes everything depends on where you live, that's the tagline to begin with! it's too COLD where i LIVE, so WARMING will be GREAT. how can u beat that? u can't. im sorry, i don't think its a myth! yes yes global warming is horrible and so are wars and hunger, but if u want to see any humor or positive sides to it, there's one. i do know what the negative effects are here, of climate changing, and while anyone can use their brain to figure those out, honestly im still gonna say yay for warm! i mean when u compare to areas where there are hurricanes and killer heatwaves and storms and flooding... i think we're pretty well off. i don't think my Green Party representative will agree however, hehe.
