no shit, sherlock
still feels awkward NOT to think about my old job stuff anymore. i set everything up until monday morning, as i always do on thursdays... and no i did not come up with anything nasty or overly humorous as my final signature. i did want to feature something bunny related on the front page but didn't find antyhing suitable. so, that was that then. but i think i will look at the page next week at some point, to see what my colleagues are doing with the 'legacy' (lol) that i left.
last night i went to Arttu's, where us and Eufemia watched the new Sherlock Holmes. Eufemia is a fan of the books, and i suppose the movie somewhat raped the book-image... but thats what happens with these modernizations of famous characters... i like that Iron Man actor though, and i never remember his name...
something odd happened though, i decided to move a file to Arttu via dropbox, and he said its too slow since the file was 1.36GB (in 2 parts) , but i threw it in there anyway. at 19:37. at 19:40 dropbox claimed it was "ok", green, transferred. arttu went to check the dropbox web interface and it did indeed look like the file was there, so he started downloading, and had it down in 15 or 20 or whatever minutes. we could assume that dropbox lied this one time, and transfered from me directly to arttu, but anyway, i am only supposed to have 5MB upload, i dont think this makes sense. we are puzzled.
dropbox is one of the greatest inventions ever though, to move big files between friends privately, and to store stuff u want to access on several computers.
my other favorite free software include flashnote (from the makers of flashpaste - also AWESOME) and wordweb. flashnote is for quick to do-lists or for anything u need to copy and save for later, with a hotkey u have it there, paste, and forget about it. no need to open a programs (like notepad) and 'save as', ETC SHIT!!!! its always there and saves automatically. and wordweb is a very thorough thesaurus/dictionary with synonyms and antonyms and pronunciation and so on... very nice, just paint the word and with a hotkey u have it all right there. hmm. i think they deserve their own screenscaps. for the sake of writing down my personal history.
flashnote;
wordweb;
some trailers that inspired me;
Repo Men - JUDE LAW! yayyyyy. no but i guess this is just a futuristic action thingie like any, reminds me of Gattace, which was shit. maybe that combined with the Tom Cruise thing...what was that again. anyway. Forest Whitaker is usually great.
MacGruber - macgyver anyone? :D :D hilarious
The Ghost Writer - Ewan MyGregor always has me ... dont have issues with Bo.. Pierce Brosnan either. probably a decent thriller.
Cyrus - i didnt expect much from this but it seemed heartwearming and interesting after all. good actors.
City Island - suddenly i am very curious about the families and cultures of new york. i need to go there!!!!!! how do i get there??!!! i am going exactly the wrong way now. well, just south really. odd to think of it, as syria sounds so exotic, but its on the same fuckin time zone as finland. so im not really going anywhere am i? but i NEED TO go to New York now! fuck.
and the movie? yea it might be fun too.
