on the road with good music
we spent the weekend on the road. seeing Istanbul and Turkey from a car-perspective has been all in all wonderful, the sceneries are different and interesting for me...i am loving it. well i am easy to impress with some mountains and beaches....:p but the europe-asia bridge is often so beautiful too, at sunset i do not wonder why it counts for a large portion of the suicides in istanbul. a beautiful place to die, if you will.
we spent last night in Ağva, a village on the asian side, in the north. somehow ended up (through someone who knows someone...) in an old flat where no one lives now, it was quite worn out but luckily no spiders.
Yusuf, who hosted me in Hatay in february is now in istanbul and might come stay over tomorrow night. it would be nice to pay back the hospitality of course :)
the bedroom of the house where we stayed. nothing special of course. just a memory of the place.
we stopped over in a small family restaurant at the mountains. the view downhill were amazing but the cows and nature next to our table caught my attention as well. i really enjoyed it here.
the beach looks boring in this. snapshot cams just cannot capture certain depths in sceneries. the sound of the ocean and feeling of space were beautiful on this beach. we went back there at night, with a white wine bottle and popcorn. sitting on a blanket and looking at the sea in moonlight was amazing.
the view was amazing in Şile also.
on thursday when i was getting on the ferry this was the view.
all in all i had a good weekend. tomorrow starts a new week. one during which i need to get my flat in shape for the housewarming party thats on friday.
tonight i got this big rug from a shop for 22euros... thats pretty good considering its thick and in fact much nicer than in the photo! i dont think i would go for these colors back home but i can be a little out of control here... and its certainly not important if the colors match etc... i just need a few cheap items. if they please me in some way, all the better.
i was complaining to Egemen online that i am a bit hungry but my fridge is empty and he suggested i order through Yemeksepeti.com. the website is in english also, and has all the fastfood places in the country... from Burger King to sushi places and whomever offers home delivery. and almost all places do. so thi was amazing. they have rating systems and opening hours and everything quite nicely done, and the order process is easy. i decided to get a sandwich with deep fried mussels and some stuffed mussels -of course. from Şampiyon Kokoreç. there is no delivery fee and my order totaled 5e. and how fast did it arrive? averages run between 30 to 60 minutes. but i have a timestamp for when i pressed order, and my buzzer rang 9 minutes later. 9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this place must be right behind the corner... i gotta find it cos theyre open until 2 or 4...
my feet-selfportraits... i havent given up on them. we were blasting music and driving through the beautiful sceneries (which the photo cannot present at all), i was in a good mood. far from everything.
