locked in

we finally replaced the upper lock. was about to get it just before lockdown, so had to put it on hold for a moment. which is fine cos i was home all the time anyway. now that we start to go out more (hopefully), i thought its time to get it done. Banham is similar system to Abloy, registered keys. and obviously nearly unpickable.i feel like they are a good combo. now im happy with the door.

 the keys are cute, different.

although salons are opening in july i guess, i had been thinking if i should go back to doing my own. i started going to nail salons when i moved to istanbul 10 years ago. luckily found a good place there immediately. in london i have struggled, most places are cheap and work too quickly without any concern for the natural nail. so they get destroyed. ive looked for pricier places but with poor success. there was one one good one, i was so relievedd having found her, a portuguese woman woman in my hair salon, but then she moved back to portugal. and the next one had her own faults and i stopped going after like 3 visits. so its always anxiety inducing going to places that i know are so-so and where the results are usually not up to my expectations. buuuut doing it myself is hard work too, its time off other things. but i made the ove, bought acrylic nail products and did one test nail for starters.
it was more complicated with unfamiliar products than i expected so the first nail is a bit too bumpy. but its a start.

random dinner.

today was 31c - the first 31c day this year!! after my work we went out for a walk with doctor, then picked up snacks and went to sit at the park. it was my first time in a grocery store since march 14th. i cant believe my holiday starts next week. just before covid we were about to buy flights to Tokyo and Greece but now it looks like we will just enjoy our living room. maybe some short trips around UK at some point in july. Brighton? Manchester? also hoping to get our windows changed in July. hoping. acoustic double glazing. lets see.
