went for a midnight walk with manyk who came over, got myself some good 7-11 coffee and a hotdog.

i've seen the cow explanation of politics before, and now it's extended with corporations. my favs are german corporation, bureaucracy american-style and dictatorship. democracy republican-style is too true.

Let Me Die Before I Wake, what a soft and nice name for a book. but the contents is just recipes and instructions for suicide, worthy perhaps of the 0.01$ price but not the 9$ shipping ;) the book was referred to by Lisa Lieberman, whose book Leaving You - The Cultural Meaning of Suicide i received today. the book is, as the title suggests, a study on the cultural aspects of suicide, historical as well, but i admit i am slightly disappointed. the chapters (1. defiant death, 2. death and democracy..) seem mostly superficial and dwell on somewhat insignificant, even personal, things in my opinion. also, with the word culture in the title, it really could contain more data than random details. still, i had no problem just reading most of it.

i'm thinking, while studying the history and culture of finns (a slow neverending hobby of mine), i guess i could or should take a look at the national epic poem Kalevala. i'm known for my lack of interest in poetry and traditional arts but maybe things change? or maybe not but perhaps accommodations must be made. now, i wonder if Kalevala is available online or if i actually have to drag my ass to the library...
