who's gonna save...

i found that the Lonely Island member Jorma Taccone was in this Gnarls Barkley video; Who's Gonna Save My Soul. great video really :)

i was amused by this pic of Linus Torvalds as well...:)

and this book; On The Life And Death Of Languages by Claude Hagége, seems interesting. im not generally too much into dying species and all that...but languages are interesting. i wonder what it feels like to be the last one to speak a certain language? it will disappear with you.

been listening to Jon Hopkins today... (youtube search). i especially love the song Wider Sun.

i found some cool new blogs to follow too, and through one, this article on 'future of architecture'. interesting thoughts. one of the cool blogs was Atlas Obscura, featuring interesting places around the world. many are classics that everyone heard of, but the Aokigahara suicide forest in Japan for example was a new thing for me. i think next time i go to Istanbul i should check the Basilica Cisterns...

which brings me to the fact that if i was going anywhere later this year (december i think), i should make some decisions and plans now. i am feeling so restless... and im not planning a vacation really, just working from somewhere else again. i should really see the Istanbul thing through, ive just been rather upset that i havent heard anything regarding the job thing, and ive been too passive and tired to write anyone and ask whats up... and the whole thing with that guy i met, its still an open wound. i should probably go elsewhere to let it heal. but so then what about my job prospects, am i giving up on them? no, i wouldnt want to. i should get my shit together and wake up and be active and do something about this...

i got a confirmation that i have more project work until the end of november at least, some word website stuff, updating and so forth. financially important info.

I was wondering if I could come up to jolly Helsinki for New Year's, if you and some of yr gang were likely to be around... Ruska's burlesque group is supposedly doing a NY'sEve performance in Tampere, which doesn't seem to be too far away from Helsinki... :)
