just summing things up

this is becoming a tradition i think. started doing it in dA, some years ago.

1. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
worked full-time 9to5 style.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
i dont make such things. or if i ever did i happily forgot.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
not just yet.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
no.

5. What countries did you visit?
spain, sweden, turkey, austria, hungary, israel and palestine

6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
change of scenery.

7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
im not good with dates. but i remember june 29th, when i stayed up until morning in istanbul, then traveled to finland the same day, and my last day as full time employee was the next day.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

oh no. not sure if i achieved anything?

9. What was your biggest failure?
i didnt fail too much did i? just a lot of little things that i could have done better when socializing for example.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
no

11. What was the best thing you bought?
i am hoping it will prove to be my english teaching certificate. didnt buy much big things this year, mostly airline tickets... my Canon S90 was a pretty good purchase tho! AND my 1st ticket to Istanbul was my single fav flight purchase perhaps...it led to so many other good things and discoveries, an eye opener.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Arttu is always a winner. but i cant think of anyone in specific i guess.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?

some peoples behavior was not up to my standards but that is pretty common isnt it, not worth mentioning?

14. Where did most of your money go?
traveling. and earlier in the year also i think i bought a few dozen pairs of shoes... and ate and drank out a lot.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
early in the year it was new job. then it was istanbul and ideas related (moving there etc) to it. meeting mr Jekyll & Hyde was an exciting find, rare, and i simply loved the feeling of 'feeling'. also a job project i did in the fall was quite exciting.

16. What songs will always remind you of 2009?
Frida Hyvönen: London
Say Hi To Your Mom: Blah Blah Blah
Guetta feat Akon: Sexy Bitch
Teddybears feat Iggy Pop: Punkrocker
Jace Everett: Bad Things
Daniel Merriweather: Impossible
Bon Iver: Flume
Tiamat: Too Far Gone
Bloodhound Gang: Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss

lets test grooveshark now that were at it... it has lovely features and impressive music selection. soooo a widget/player of my 2009 songs - tadaa!:

actually, while not on my playlist, i will remember Susan Boyle's I Dreamed A Dream as part of 2009, also cos it came up with the work stuff i did.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? sort of... both. could be right NOW - sadder
ii. thinner or fatter? thinner i think
iii. richer or poorer? richer

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
creative things at least.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

sleeping.

20. How did you spend Christmas?

just relaxing. spent the eve of 24th with arttu's family and on the 25th i went to miss R's to watch movies.

21. How did you spend New Years?
went to a couple of parties.

22. Did you fall in love in 2009?
yea looks like it, hah. i didnt think so but it ended up hurting so much - only love can do that :)

23. How many one night stands?
the concept is so vague, i dont think im into "one night stands" at all, but it depends how you define it i suppose. anyway, its not a topic for public arenas.

24. What were your favourite TV programmes?

House always is. True Blood kicked in REALLY HARD. then there was some decent ones like Nurse Jackie and Flash Forward.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
i dont think so - but im not into hating in general

26. What was the best book you read?
a nice reminder how i dont read much books.... Out Of The Blue was a really amusing biography. im not sure if i read "The Porning Of America" this year or the previous... Crime by Alex Lambert was interesting compilation. i think the only fiction i read was yet another detective/crime novel that i shot the cover for... hmm, i wonder if its come out yet cos i dont think i received a copy yet?

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
mostly just certain songs... cant remember which artists i found this year. Kleerup, Teddybears STHLM, Richard Hawley...

28. What did you want and get?
well i had work. got to feel something.

29. What did you want and not get?
more of the previous things.

30. What was your favourite film of this year?
what did i see this year? uhh. tough one. had to wrech my brain for this one. i actually liked Benjamin Button. and Moon. Zombieland was very amusing too.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
i turned 29 and had a normal work day, which was historical cos i never used to work on my birthday before.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
work stuff (the amount of work etc) could have gone better, but also i think i went on lazy mode with a few things which annoyed me a lot.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
same old i guess, trendy girly rock alternative... and then at new years (party) i get an italian guy telling me i look gothic. still *rolls eyes*.

34. What kept you sane?
who says im sane anymore....bah

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
must have been Eric Northman/Alexander Skarsgård from True Blood.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
cant remember all the events of 2009 but personally the middle east thing touched me a lot as i tried to get closer to understanding it

37. Who did you miss?
some old friends or such. theres always some people.

38. Who was the best new person you met?

*trying to think hard who i met THIS year* hmm... Tero at work would be one i believe. theres many nice people though... i guess Jekyll/Hyde has to be listed in here.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009.
tough one. i think i learn every year (possibly) that going with your gut feeling is the right thing to do. also i think culturally i was educated a lot this year - traveling has a way of doing that...?

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.

cant think of anything now :(
