back to life

i lost my internet connection at home on thursday... and it still isnt working, on friday the operator said someone would come today but nothing happened. the operator call center couldnt do anything today, told me to call the kadiköy local number but no one answered there... its SO fucked up. but i guess this is what i signed for when i moved here. anyway, a lot has happened. my downstairs neighbor borrowed me his connection for now, thank god. i was really suffering.

i met my neighbor last night at my housewarming party, he just got home from a trip to Amsterdam at night and heard the music from my flat (we had a guitarist and sax player jamming here) and knocked on my door, interested. we invited him in, turns out he's lived in NYC for 6 yrs, so i got lucky (=english speaking person in my house!). today i went to ask him about using his wireless possibly, and he invited me in and his place was VERY nice. its the same flat as mine, right under me, so its interesting to compare. hed just cooked something so he offered me to take some food with me, and borrowed me some movies on DVD...and yes, most importantly the internet. and very turkishly of course offered to help me if i had any problems or questions about anything at all :) he does iPhone programming, some graphic design stuff and such...artsy person actually. but the way hes done his flat really inspired me. of course i couldve made mine amazing already if i just had the finances for it, now it will just take a bit more time.

anyway, the party was good despite a lot of people not showing up. there was me, the doctor, Egemen, Volkan and his gf Ilcin, Tamer and his gf, and Tugkan + gf Tuba, and Ilhan. my punch was well liked and i think people enjoyed themselves :)

today was (despite not having the internet and waking up with a hangover) really good. we slept late and after surviving the hangover things were just good... the not much concrete to explain it, yea we got me a used washing machine and so on but it wasnt just that. i was very happy at times and loved and felt loved. so simple.

the training at the school is going okay, quite interesting and now i got 2 days left.

errr... i think there is a big game at the Fenerbache stadium now... cos its about 1km from me, and i can hear the crowd singing and yelling...

well, the doctor called he is going to Taksim with his friends so i think ill go too... since its may 1st there were demonstrations and stuff today but it should be safe to go now.
