unknown time period
-so how long do u plan to stay in istanbul?
-i dunno, maybe a year or less, depends
-yea, u know, it could turn out much longer...u never know what happens...
(-sure, so dont fuckin ask me then)
my teacher training thing started today... it was exciting and i felt pretty good about it. and i was the only one who had done the assigned homework.... finnish responsibleness...
i am starting to feel more and more like home. i know where to find the store that sells cheap kitchen ware and where i can get certain foods.... and the staff of Hera (bar) is greeting me. at the nearby grocery store they are also getting friendly, opening the door and helping me to pack my purchases in those crappy thin plastic bags. i never take a shopping basket and often end up with my arms full of stuff... as i was looking at somethign between the shelves and an employee passed by, he then stopped and took the wine bottles (for the party) from my arms and gestured that he is taking them to the cashier. so i can pick them up once i get there. the shop guard is helping me to get things that are too high on the shelf for me to get. all this is making me feel quite comfy.
coming back on a ferry from Karaköy today i saw a familiar face. Demir, whom i met earlier in the week in that 'insider bar' though Volkan, was also returning home. i didnt think id say this but i guess Istanbul can be quite small too if i start running into friends so soon.
