so during the day Alexandroupoli is a horrible and quiet and pathetic ghost town. shops are closed on saturday and hoardes of wild dogs bark on the empty streets. however after 8 it becomes a lively little town with many taverns, pubs and most friendly waiters ever. i emphasize the words "most" and "friendly". greeks have lots in common with the turks i think. but one or 2 nights here are enough cos the days are horrible. i hung out with a local student of medicine, Helen, who is also disappointed with what the town has to offer, she is from cyprus originally. anyhow, i think greece deserves another visit later on, great food and ppl are unresistible. many free wireless internet connections help too...
