its sunny and it might not be a coincidence
i was listening to podcasts today while playing my mobile game and chilling on the sofa basking in the sun. and eating a cake that a friend made and gave us. the podcasts were american and british. until the 5th or so was finnish and in the first ad slot (of the podcast, we have paid Spotify) there was UK Home Office reminder for EU citizens to apply for Settled Status before the deadline. ive noticed the government and tax office here use social media pretty actively informing people, reminding people, advising people. and i think this was smart targeting, if not a coincidence (listening to a "foreign" podcast in UK - i have no idea how spotify ads work). i think its good, trying to reach out. although maybe it says something about failures in reaching people otherwise? not sure. even NHS is advertising on Facebook, targeting Londoners with a mental health app. mental health services are SO limited and clogged up that it actually makes sense to try reach people online and offer something. obviously an app is not going to fix any serious issues (at least i dont think so), but it can maybe help some or be a band aid.
my mental health seems to have - lets not celebrate just yet - taken a turn upwards. i think it "unfortunately" is due to having met friends yesterday and previous saturday. unfortunately, because obviously it's wrong and illegal. and i fully understand why its wrong, but i just couldnt anymore. and i assume similar for my friends. it seems to me like the actions and limitations required to to mitigate this virus are incompatible with human life. it sucks, because that leaves no great options. anyway, whats done is done. and i think its NOT a coincidence that i found myself interested in my puzzle again. the one i started in december. but lets see, after last saturday my high lasted for all but 3 or so days, by midweek i was miserable again. i feel like meeting people at this point is like CPR or oxygen.
random dinner with leftover calzone, daikon radish and other stuff.
found this vegan pizza in waitrose and it was on expiry-sale so i gave it a go. not very good, dry and tasteless. i rather have regular veggie pizza.
coffee table was full of invisible women today, lol. i am so obsessed with the book on the right i got a couple of extra copies and when i some day see some friends again i will hand them out. i feel like im a missionary. ive not started Qanta Ahmed's In the Land of Invisible Women yet, just got it a few days ago.
i got some new underwear recently; one biology theme
and this one references the gov scheme to support restaurants last summer/autumn; Eat Out to Help Out.
