random hassle

today was quite effective, but neither of u went to work so that might be why :D doctor had to run around to the gas company, water company and electricity supplier to make contracts. it took a couple hours... and when do they open the said services? we will see. they say one thing and another happens. IKEA was delivering us furniture to the new flat today so we went there at 2 o'clock. at the same time, coincidentally, a guy from the phone company (ADSL) showed up unnoticed. he walked to the socket and did something to the wires and walked out. so now its open i guess. at least the internet at the old flat stopped working..... ... we are using our phones as modems now.

turks quickly make connections with people, which makes sense since it is important here. last night while waiting for the shower cabin guy to appear we talked to the Iranian resturant owner downstairs and today i went and had lunch there. i had a quite tasty burger :) we also talked and he told me something about the building and a difficult elderly woman living upstairs. actually, we met her too... the IKEA guys were carrying the couch up the stairs and she saw them and complained that there will be dirt on the stairs now because of us. err?? first, the couch was not dirty of course and secondly, the IKEA guys i doubt have any dirtier shoes than other people walking up and don the stairs. i did notice the staircase was quite dirty though, so whomever is responsible for cleaning the building is not doing it... anyhow, that was some really useless whining from her.

then we called a repairman to look at the bathroom, to make the drain for the shower. also we need curtain rails in the rooms. he will do both for 150tl. doctor told him that the floor drain better look well done cos if its ugly, his gf will kill both of them. thats pretty much true...

the shower cabin installer arrived as well and installed a cheapo plastic cabin with white profiles. we couldnt really think of the expensive options right now. we took turns watch and make sure he does it properly, and i guess its ok. its not straight according to wall tiles but its hard to tell where the problem is, floor or something else. anyhow it seems to work. we will see how it performs in use...

tomorrow i should see Kübra. cant stay late though... packing is waiting. we did some packing today too. on thursday i think we hould go to IKEA again and after that take the modem to the new flat and see if the internet works or not, so that we can react in time if it doesnt... with all the problems ive had with ttnet, ive learned to be cautious.

i guess despite all the randomness and hassle things are still going quite well... the more i see of the new flat the more improvement-ideas i get and the more faults i see in it, but thats just me. i will do my best to make it nicer and nicer and nicer...
