so simple

i am having a shoe craze again. its a the spring, i guess. im browsing eBay a lot...

doctor and me are discussing about going to Thailand in the fall. but we should time it well, i think there is a monsoon season around that time, i dunno. going from turkey to thailand is expensive, by living there is cheap. im really interested in the people...things...FOOD...  we watched Bourdain's No Reservations episode about Thailand.

i am enjoying Quora a lot lately. i was annoyed by it earlier, say, a year or 2 ago, when they were around and somewhere on the site prompted you to login but then put an abrupt stop to it by informing me its only for invited members. wtf. im sure there were reasons but it was poorly done. now that its open, im enjoying the smart points of view on various question, ranging from practical to impossibly subjective and simple ("what is it like to have the name Pi?").

a couchsurfer came to stay with us today, a guy from pakistan who lives in sweden. and later in the evening i went to a weekly  local couchsurfing meeting for Turkish-English learning, for the first time. its for foreigners and locals who want to learn or develop their turkish or english skills. i got to prctise some but later i just ended up talking with this syrian arabic teacher about the politics of syria and the whole thing. i think i learned something about that too, so all in all a good night.

a finnish semi-documentary(?) about "finnish heart swedish blood". seems kinda interesting.
