packing panic...:S

Barcelona tomorrow. im excited. its been a while since i went anywhere. and surely its a priviledge to go anywhere at all. its not too many years ago that most the turks simply could not even imagine going abroad, partly due to income level but also it was hard, passports were crazy expensive, the country has been semi-closed. so its still not common, although gaining popularity among the educated and even middle class. still, many many turks have never been abroad, and those who may just be able to find the idea strange or scary and rather just go to local destinations. after all, language barriers do exist too!

so anyway, where was i? im glad to go. i got myself travel insurance, cash, passport is safe, im all set :)  actually the exchange office surprised me today. i asked google how much my liras should be in euros and the exchange office were offering me pretty much that, almost exactly to the euro. thats rare??

Arttu is coming to Istanbul in May a couple night ago he was online and i decided to ask when is he coming over again. he asked if whatever days were ok and the booked the flight. well that was fast :) now im thinking what we should do when he gets here, go outside the city a bit i think, hes been here so many times...

Economist: Turkish press - not so free. yeah....its a sad story. they think xx % of growth impresses everyone enough not to notice the lack of freedom of speech. and it seems to be working for most of the west...

i hate leaving doctor alone like this though. i will miss him...
