çapulcu musun? are you a chapuller?

one may now ask their hairdresser/co-worker/taxi driver if they, too, are a "looter". for the record, my hairdresser is. i got my hair cut yesterday. got a pedicure too. so i am now summer-ready.

from wikipedia;
Chapulling (Turkish: çapuling) is a neologism originating in the 2013 protests in Turkey, derived from Prime Minister Erdogan's use of the term çapulcu (roughly translated to "looter" or "marauder") to describe demonstrators.The word quickly caught on, adopted and anglicized by the demonstrators with a new meaning: fighting for one's rights.
lets see if the article stays up.

Hürriyet Daily: Gezi park is now a utopic freetown. this is how i felt on Tuesday too, when visiting it. later that day i read they built an outdoor library there, it looked cool. it is a kind of hippieland in the center of istanbul, which is utopic indeed. but at the same time it felt so natural when i was there.

"10 reasons why Erdogan welcomes the protests" by Al-Monitor. funny. but it made me realize one of the things how you 'know you've been in turkey for too long'; its when you read such an article, making jokes about Erdogan, and you check who the writer is to confirm they are a foreigner living abroad...after all, no one in turkey would write that, unless they wanted jail time. protest tweeters have been jailed already, also.

got this dress from one of the kadiköy shops that randomly have items from H&M, Zara, Monsoon, Primark etc. factory leftovers or what, i dont know. this is by KappAhl. 10tl/4e.

pedicure. i feel bad how they always work in such unergonomic positions here :(

i got this rash on my neck a few days ago :( im taking care of it but it has been itchy and ugly.

i was reading this article about turkey and the protests (what else...) on Spectator, when i lol'led at this reference re: the new drinking regulations; "... but everyone knows that Turkey does not have a Finnish (or English) drink problem to justify such things."  well, that is true.

well, i should pack for my trip to finland...  i am kind of happy about going but i already miss doctor. is this pathetic? i just wouldnt want to stay apart that long.
