a red oven in the house
i bought lighters in order to light up a few candles. its december after all! i still have not decided if i buy christmas decor this year, i have some left from previous years but a white small christmas tree would be so cuuuute. just not sure what are the priorities when going into 'budget mode'.
doctor got home from work this afternoon and is now out with his father, buying us an oven. we had chosen the brand and approximate model. basically the one we ordered from the online store (Simfer M 4217), but it was really banged up upon arrival so we sent it back and didnt want to risk it again.
when shopping at Migros i have taken it as a habit to ask for a new Migros card every time, if i am buying something with a good M-card discount. the card doesnt work after the first time unless you register it somehow...i didnt bother trying to figure it out...whatever. getting a new card is easier, it suits them right for making it so hard. today the teller didnt have any cards but he kindly asked the customer behind me if he could borrow his :)
some crazy shit on female circumcision; youtube video on a televised debate - a turk would say [alla' allaaa] and shake their head. despite what i have seen some ignorant people say, female circumcision is not a "normal" and common part of islam. not that there is anything to celebrate about the male circumcision either...but surely i think female circumcision is much more brutal and harmful and should be ended at once. i dont really know of any middle eastern country that practices it, just areas on the african continent. maybe somewhere on the pakistani mountains but they do all kinds of officially wrong stuff there anyway... middle east is more famous for its honor killings practiced in a few countries, yet another act not advised in the quran or hadiths. aaaanyway. it makes me furious to see someone defend such practices.
the new oven.
so my life as a work-at-home-freelancer starts tomorrow. im excited. in the morning i should take my time with breakfast. and dress up as if i was going out in order to get into working mode. and then read the news and twitter and so... and by 10am i should be going at it!
