with the father in law
i woke up at noon today to doctor calling me from work. saying his father is coming over and i should go pick him from the port. it wasnt a surprise tho as we discussed this briefly yesterday when he got the news. in turkey, your family does not ask if they can come over, they simply inform you - and if they do it even hours before arrival, you should just be grateful, a sudden knock on the door is far more common. so i go pick him up and now im trying to entertain him. ive served 3 cups of tea so far. he doesnt speak a word of english but is very talkative so im somewhat under pressure, i can only understand some and try to manage...
i dont mind this 2-3 day hosting, it is the first time his father is visiting us. the family is not religious or conservative, so on that basis also it is easy for me.
yesterday after my last workday i went to meet my potential English student. a german turk footballer who moved to istanbul. he seemed really motivated and nice. i look forward to it, we should start next week. afterwards i met with Hanna & Karl, had a few drinks and then came home like a good girl...
tomorrow i will continue work on the mobile app GUI. and monday...i am not getting up at 8:15 and going to work! i have no strict plans in fact.
