poor Bunilla

Bunilla had a hard disk failure and i spent easter and the past week caring for her. she is only 4.5 years old so for that to happen... its a bit unexpected, SSD's should have a pretty long life span? she was also crazy dusty inside...  that hard disk only had windows and some temp stuff, all my files are on a hard driv and a back u hard drive. but i fucked up a bit and i lost all my browser tabs. which honestly is hard for me, i feel a bit lost without. as if installing windows and all the software from zero wasnt shitty enough.  bookmarks i will be able to find from a backup, they've also followed me for maybe close to 2 decades so its super important.  anyway Bunilla's new hard disk is a Samsung 970 EVO 1 TB. i hope now she has a few more smooth years.

a new shop opened about 150m from our home, called New Village or someting. its one of those organic-vegan-local type of shops, but like a collection of stuff, basic veggies and also dragon fruits, sushi making ingredients, all kinds of hipster fermented things, juice shots and smoothies, ecological household items (Ecover, Method etc) and snacks and stuff a well but like small organic brands. also a small meat shelf for organic meats. its defo pricey but perfect for the area and not the first one either. it was really nice though so i hope they succeed, there is an almost identical but smaller shop right next door (Trude's) - also cute but somehow i was not convinced,  it was half empty and a bit random. the New Village shop turned out to be turkish owned which is interesting as there was nothing turkish in there.

someone needs to build a restaurant booking aggregator thing, where u give the date, time and how many people, and possibly preferences like area or cuisine, and it will tell u where u can find a table. because it IS so hard to find tables for the next couple weeks starting monday when terraces/gardens open. going to websites and booking systems one by one is tiring...  anyway ive managed to secure us a a lunch and dinner for tomorrow which is the first day, and i am even going to go for a breakfast. doctor felt it was too extreme. and it probably is. i can see myself really questioning my life decisions at 9:30am when i sit at a terrace with my brekkie toast and coffee...  the week is forecasted to be quite chilly so a lot of suffering ahead. but despite hating the cold i really just need to get outside and do something different, walks at the park or eating takeaway at home just isnt enough. i mean, if my life depended on staying home a few more weeks or months, sure, but statistically its not likely that my life depends on it. im willing to take this covid risk to manage the mental health issues the isolation is causing.and it IS causing them. ive spoken to a couple of friends who are not going to go out yet, and i suppose its good not everyone is running out right away. we all do whats comfortable for ourselves. yet if no one went out, hospitality sector would suffer even more than it already has... and as i keep touting, unemployment, poverty, depression etc kills people too. just slower. its really bad for economy and everyone. anyway, im glad the vaccinations have been going so well and hopefully that and the coming summer will help with covid, economy and maybe we we can keep the situation at a "flu level" and get used to it. i think thats the most likely scenario as eradicating covid is not happening.

breakfast - Minnow
lunch - Laundry (Brixton)
dinner - No 32 The Old Town

didnt really have a lot of options to choose from but this is a good start. i even have the day off work - but i admit its by coincidence, not for this occasion. if it wasnt for this "occasion" though i would have cancelled it as i did with a few other days off - no use sitting a home when u cant go anywhere. imo.

Guardian on mental health crisis

non-essential shops are also opening tomorrow, but i expect the queues to be ridiculous so my shopping can wait a bit longer maybe, unless i happen to pass by somewhere with no queue. and hair salons etc are also opening but of course when i came around to thinking about it, like a week ago, my regular places were fully booked for the first couple weeks. so my hair and lash appointments are towards the end of april. and i didnt book nails yet, managing with press on's for now but i'll eventually go.

these french manis by Kiss were surprisingly good considering what they are..

we had a new neighbour move in a few weeks ago. downstairs. she is maybe 30, young professional type, seems nice although enjoyes house parties plenty. we all need parties of course, just the volume can be an issue at times. party of living in the city...
